Certain to stay unseen, John made his way through the tunnels, being very careful not to step on anything sharp with his bare feet. Once back to the car, John looked around to make sure all was clear. He approached the car and lifted the trunk. Inside were some spare clothes—wisely packed by Vickie in case of incident—three more cases of nail polish, two spare water guns, and a few flash grenades Larry brought along. Just before he left, John noticed Vickie’s cell phone. “Screw it, hopefully he believes me.” John sent a text to a Lucas Cane, his Army General friend. The text contained a description of the threat and instructions on how to defeat the converts.

Back at the ship, Vickie arrived fully converted and ready to obey. Kira now set her sights on New York City, as she and a drone punched the coordinates into the weapon.

Kira turned from the control panel. “Where is John?”

“I don’t know, Mistress,” Vickie replied. “He was exposed to the blast. The gel was still covering his legs when I left the cave. He should have been converted.”

“You disappoint me!” Kira slapped Vickie’s face. “Join a patrol and find him!”

  “Yes, Mistress.”

Meanwhile, John returned to the tunnels and made his way to his uncle’s house. He exited the tunnels on the hilltop near the house. From there, he could see patrols of converts guarding the ship and entering the tunnels, looking for him no doubt. The massive Nylonian weapon was engaged and moving around. The weapon lit up and shot out a blast of golden energy.

A thousand miles away in New York City, a newswoman was doing a report for the evening broadcast when, suddenly, a large yellow ball of energy impacted the ground a hundred yards behind her. The alien energy pulsed out a hundred miles in all directions. The newswoman dropped to her knees as her clothes melted away, including the tan pantyhose she wore for the report. Waves of desire coursed through her body as an oozing black puddle quickly formed around her feet and began to spread up her legs. The woman pleaded for help, but everyone around her had the same problem.

The cries for help soon turned to moans and gasps of desire. It only took a half-hour for all people in the target age range within the blast area to become fully converted. Viewers across the country watching the report panicked, and quickly made their way into shelters. Government officials in Washington D.C. utilized all of their available resources to determine the blast’s origin. However, the methods of cloaking used by the Nylonians made this task impossible.

While the country panicked and tried to figure out the blast’s origins, Kira navigated the weapon to a new position. Soon, the city of Los Angeles suffered the same fate as New York.

“I have to shut down the weapon,” John declared aloud. He carefully made his way down the hill, making sure to stay hidden behind the trees. He didn’t get far before one of the patrols spotted him.

“There he is!” Jenny screamed. “Get him!”

John bolted across the lawn and into the house where he found himself face to face with Vickie. “Hello, lover,” she said. “It is nice of you to grace us with your presence.”

“I’m sorry, babe, but I’ll have to free you later. I have bigger fish to fry.”

John grabbed Vickie’s wrists before she opened her palms to shoot him with the alien substance and tossed her through a door. He ran across the house, dodging shots at every turn, leapt out of the kitchen window, and made his way into the barn.

While his pursuers regrouped, John found the old grenades his uncle had saved from his army days. He made his way out the east door and bolted up the house’s antenna tower, scaling it like a pro. He reached the top before the first of his pursuers started climbing behind him. As he expected, the large weapon’s barrel was pointed at him. John pulled the pins from the grenades and hurled them at the barrel. Two missed the mark, but one of them found its way in. The two that missed exploded first, causing the tower to shake as well as clear the base of John’s pursuers. A large explosion came from the bowels of the weapon. As the barrel detached from the rest and fell to the ground, John let out a yell of victory.

  “Take that, you alien bitches!”

His victory was short-lived as the antenna tower finally gave way, sending John falling to the ground. Before he blacked out, he noticed Vickie standing over him.

“Bold move,” she said. “Too bad it was your last action as a free man.”

With a break from the crisis war room, Lucas finally looked at John’s text that he’d been too busy to read. Once he saw it, General Lucas Cane got on the horn with his superiors in Washington D.C. The task force gathered at the Pentagon, went over the information in the text, and with no other leads, they decided to act on it.

John woke restrained to a chair in the middle of a room aboard the Mother Ship. As his vision became less blurry, he found himself surrounded by the five hose-sheathed women. The apparent leader walked over to him. “I am Kira, leader of the Nylonian Mistress Elders, you have caused us much trouble.”

  John shot back, “Thanks.”

Kira grinned. “Though we could convert you and make you our slave, we admire your resilience. You have found a way to remove our conversion hose, captured and freed a few converts, and although it will be fixed in a few hours, you have destroyed our most prized weapon.”

“What’s your point?” John barked. “Just kill me, convert me, or shut the hell up!”

“We are going to extend you a bargain,” Kira said. “Because we admire you, we decided to offer you a chance to remain unconverted and free. We will repair the weapon and continue our conversion of Earth. You will be left alone and placed on an island, where we will give you as many nylon-encased slaves as you wish.”

“Slaves to convert me in my sleep!”

“No!” Kira responded. “The slaves given to you will have their own conversion abilities taken away. In addition, we will allow you to take one other human with you who will remain unconverted and be given the same luxuries as you. However, to prevent you from causing trouble, your island will be contained by a force field.”

John looked up at his captor, a confused look on his face. “You have me tied to a chair. Why are you offering me this?”

Kira walked closer. “We have many traditions in our culture. One such tradition is to extend mercy and diplomacy to an enemy who has earned our respect. You are a credit to the human race. This deal is only good for a few minutes. If this offer is refused, you will be terminated.”

John looked at Kira and chuckled. “I plan to be rescued soon.”

“You refer to your text message? We know about this. As we speak, the government is sending a few fighter planes to take us out. What they don’t know is each of us Elders has the same abilities as the weapon. Our range is much smaller, however, it will be sufficient to repel intruders while our robot drones make repairs to the primary weapon. Any converts your government manages to free will become converted again soon enough.”

“Not a chance,” John argued. “They’re a whole army against just five of you. Even if your drones fix the weapon in a few hours, you’ll be dead by then.”

Kira laughed and pressed a button on the wall. The roof of the room opened up into the night sky and the floor raised up, exiting the top of the ship. John saw the lights of two planes in the sky. His captors saw the glow as well. Kira shot a beam of yellow energy from her palms at one of the planes. The plane dissolved away, and Kira used the energy to lower the pilot to the ground and induce his conversion. As the pilot seized with lust, John’s heart sank. The rest of the planes and pilots were dealt with just as easily, despite their attempts to fire polish and flames from their retrofitted guns.

While the other four Elders watched the sky and ground for more forces, Kira sauntered over to John. “What is your answer to our offer?”

“I have an answer,” John softly muttered.

In the middle of the Caribbean Sea, there was a small island surrounded by a transparent Nylonian force field. On the beach, John Baker sat, sipping a drink. It had been three years since a simple trip to hear the reading of his late uncle’s will turned his life upside down.

Before allowing him to retire to the island, the Nylonians forced John to watch his friend, General Lucas Cane, lead a futile revolt against the invaders. The Mistress Elders used their powers to hold back Cane’s attack until the weapon, that John had temporally destroyed, was repaired. Once the weapon was fixed, the invasion took full force and the world’s resistance was crushed. Upon the completion of their invasion, The Mistress Elders placed John on the island.

“Tell me again why you took the deal,” Vickie asked, as she walked over to John.

John set his drink down and looked Vickie in the eyes. “I made this choice because I love you. Once seeing the Mistress Elders dispose of the first wave of planes so easily, I came to the conclusion the invasion was inevitable. I would rather live in an enslaved world with you at my side, than a free one without.”

Vickie sat on her lover’s lap. “Ahh, that is so sweet, I would have sacrificed the world for you as well.”

The two shared an intimate kiss as the sun set in the sky behind them.
